Review : Innisfree Apple Seed cleansing oil balm

I am a big fan of cleansing oils for removing makeup. I think they do a hell of a job. I have been meaning to try cleansing balms as well but have never been able to find a good one out there. There is TBS Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter but its always out of stock on their website and stores as well πŸ™„. And the Clinique Take The Day Off is too pricey for someone who is trying balms for the first time. So I was scrolling through the Nykaa website for a cleansing oil instead and came across this product. Please read on to know more about the Innisfree Apple Seed cleansing oil balm.

Price : Rs 900/-

Available online on : Nykaa.com and Amazon.in

My take on the product :

The product comes in a white jar with a green lid. The back side of the tub has the directions to use and the ingredient list. This white color balm has a mild scent to it which reminds me of green apple which is very refreshing. The apple seed range has the same scent (I have tried the cleansing oil and foam from the range). Once the product is rubbed in between the palms it turns into an oil instantly. When mixed with water, the oil emulsifies and turns into a milky texture which helps in removing the makeup. The best part of using this product is you don’t have to use a face wash. This product does not leave any oily residue. Just apply and rinse off. Its a balm so I am guessing it will be safe to travel with.

The cleansing balm is pretty effective in removing waterproof makeup. It did remove the long wearing liquid lipstick I had on when I tried this for the first time but for waterproof mascara it does take a little bit time and work. You have to gently massage the product into your lashes so that it can melt the mascara down.
I use a bi-phased makeup remover first to take off the waterproof mascara. Then scoop a little amount of the balm using my fingers, rub it in between my palms and work it into my skin. This ensures that all the makeup that I had on is removed. Since it is a oil and has a silky texture, it does not tug or pull the skin. Then I wash my face with a cleansing foam to remove any residual makeup. It does not dry my skin out and my skin feel very clean and smooth after using this.

Overall, I love this product and will definitely repurchase. The only con I found in this is that it has fragrance as an ingredient. Not that I mind the scent πŸ˜‰

Hope this post is helpful.
