Review & Swatches : NYX Perfect Filter Palette in Rustic Antique

Hey everyone,

Few days back I mentioned a palette in one of my posts that I purchased recently, The NYX Perfect Filter palette. These palettes were released by NYX earlier this year and they come in 5 variants, but currently only 4 are available in India. I got mine from Nykaa. Today I am going to talk about the palette in the variant name Rustic Antique. I chose this palette among all others because of its color selection.

Price : Rs. 1500/-

My thoughts on the palette :

Texture: The matte shadows are quite velvety and soft and the shimmers are really smooth. They are glittery but not chunky. When swatched with finger the shadows glided on to the skin very smoothly and evenly. I did not have any difficulty in blending these eye shadows with a brush.

Pigmentation : Most of the shades are really pigmented. I swatched them without using any primer underneath and I was pretty impressed. Although the matte shadows in the top row are a bit less pigmented than the shadows in the bottom row. The pigmentation of the shimmers are bang on. when applied using a brush the shimmers did sheer out a little bit. So I used my fingers instead to pack on the shadow on my lids. Also, you can use the brush wet to pick up more product and get the maximum color pay off.

Top row; without eye shadow primer

As you can see the matte shades here are less pigmented. I had to go over two three times to get this much color for the first 2 shades. The shimmers on the other hand, are just single swipes 😍

Bottom row; without eye shadow primer

And yes, an eye shadow primer is absolutely necessary with this palette to get the most out of it.

Overall verdict : It is a decent palette, if not the best. I love the colors in the palette. They have all the shades to create multiple eye looks. You do need a primer underneath to get the maximum color pay off, but then I always use a primer because I have oily lids. For the price, I am quite happy with it. 😁
